Livingroom Candidate
Produced by the Museum of the Moving Image, this site utilizes Movie Masher Server to handle transcoding functionality.
Users are empowered to mash up MOMI's vast collection of historical presidential campaign ads from 1952-2008,
even adding their own videos, images and soundtracks. The final video production can be shared or downloaded as a standard movie file.
Their nicely designed user interface takes advantage of several of the latest Movie Masher features, like
custom display classes for the timeline background.
Many of the modules have been reconfigured into custom, attention grabbing effects and transitions too.
Altogether a very professional deployment of the whole Movie Masher system.

Video Remixer Badly Subtitled Video
These microsites sites for MTV's Best Show Ever series ran for most of 2008,
allowing visitors to remix and subtitle supplied clips. These mashes were then saved to
their site or sent to friends as part of a larger viral campaign. The site was implemented
in an early beta of version two, taking advantage of these features:
-
Text based multilingual buttons and controls.
-
New anti aliasing options for fonts, and support for
east asian languages.
-
Extensive reskinning of controls and panels using scale9 resizing.
-
Popup windoids for login functionality, using the new 'z' axis
attribute of the panel tag.
-
A custom Subtitler effects module was created to
handle time based captioning.

Scene Editor
This was the very first implementation of Movie Masher to launch publicly, using version one's more limited
feature set. The site is a popular webisode about a casting agency, and their masher allows visitors to
recast and edit specific episodes. The resulting mashups are then saved and emailed to friends.
Here's a note from the client:
"People are totally digging the editor on Cast This! As one person put it, 'this is totally addicting.'
I know at least one girl who sends one to her mother every other day :)"

groovemaker
This is by far the simplest implementation of Movie Masher out there - essentially just a restyling of the included demos
with a simple 'send to friend' feature bolted on with the CGI control. The whole project was completed in under
a day.
Here's a note the client encouraged me to put here:
"The Movie Masher software has given me, an independent producer,
the opportunity to realise my vision. If this wasn't freely available,
then my dream would be just that: a dream. Thank you Doug for designing it,
perfecting it and helping me adapt it for my site. I'm so excited to have found an
application that's easy and fun to use, but also perfectly completes my vision for
an interactive experience."

VuCreator (requires registration and PIN)
This is the first site to deploy Movie Masher Server in a
production environment.
It allows buyers of television advertising in India to design and edit their own spots,
as well as develop and target campaigns with the bundled VuPlanner application.
The resultant video files are broadcast quality and go out over satellite.
Extensive effort was put into supporting the many languages used throughout the country,
and their accompanying Unicode fonts. Users have access to several asset libraries but can also
upload their own media and full length ads. And a custom effects module was developed to
provide standard disclaimer information along the bottom of the ads, to meet local requirements.
